About Dharitri Climate Film Fest

The Dharitri Climate Film Fest is a platform for young voices to reimagine our planet’s future through the power of cinema. Dedicated to young filmmakers, the festival encourages bold storytelling on climate change, sustainability, and environmental consciousness.
We invite short films—fiction, non-fiction, or animation—that spark awareness and inspire climate action. Submissions must not exceed 3 minutes, be produced after January 1, 2024, and include English subtitles, regardless of language.

📢Don’t Let the Earth Go Silent.

🎥 Film it. Share it. Change it.
1. Document Real Environmental Issues
  • Accessible: Most of us already carry a powerful tool—our phones. Use it to capture the environmental changes, challenges, and triumphs happening around you.

  • Impactful: Raw, authentic footage can be the strongest evidence—whether it’s plastic-choked rivers, deforestation, or a community’s fight to preserve nature.

2. Raise Awareness & Drive Action
  • Storytelling Power: Share compelling, human-centered stories that show how climate change affects lives and communities.

  • Social Advocacy: Mobilize your network. Publish your videos across Instagram, YouTube, X, and more to amplify your message.

3. Learn Mobile Filmmaking Essentials
  • Lighting Tips: Natural light works best. Shoot during overcast skies or golden hour to avoid harsh shadows.

  • Audio Quality: Use an external mic if you can. Clear sound = stronger message.

  • Creative Shots: Vary your camera angles and perspectives to keep viewers engaged.

  • Simple Editing: Use free apps to trim clips, add subtitles, transitions, or background music.

4. Be Ethical & Respectful
  • Always ask for permission before filming individuals.

  • Avoid exploiting vulnerable communities.

  • Prioritize dignity and accuracy in your storytelling.
